Farm Friday

After two Saturdays away from the farm, this week was quite busy. Most of the work was in the garden, replanting those stubborn winter vegetables. They are certainly much more difficult to grow from seed than are summer vegetables.

For the enjoyment of our reader(s), I took some pictures of the compost-pile building process of this week. Our materials: rabbit bedding, chicken bedding, straw, and weeds (for a high nitrogen green layer). We put these down in alternating layers, and also added some boughten finished compost as an inoculant.
